Collaboration with MSF - Doctors without borders

Perfect Sun Travel S.L. is proud to announce that we support the humanitarian aid organization MSF - Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors without borders) with donations.
		The project we support is the fight against AIDS in Africa, specifically the project in Busia (Kenya) that treat those who are infected with HIV/AIDS. It is important to us to help the less fortunate and encourage others to contribute with money or simply with time. Aids is threatening millions of people and specially children.
MSF project in Kenya One out of five adults in Busia is infected with HIV/AIDS. More than 650 doctors from Doctors Without Borders are in the region that has been suffering from armed conflicts, endemic/epidemic diseases as well as social violence. The project Perfect Sun Travel supports, includes free antiretroviral treatment for all patients, evaluation and HIV analysis, treatment of infections as well as education programs about AIDS and prevention. MSF has been working in Kenya since 1987. With its teams in Nyanza, Western and Rift Valley provinces of Kenya, they have provided specialized care for people suffering from chronic and neglected diseases.


By the end of 2008, more than 18,600 people living with HIV/AIDS were cared for in MSF projects, and 14,000 were receiving life-saving antiretroviral therapy. In projects in the capital’s slums of Mathare and Kibera as well as in the rural areas of Busia and Homa Bay, MSF staff tested 17,250 people for HIV/AIDS. In the Pokot region of northwestern Kenya, medical teams tested more than 1,700 people for the deadly disease kala azar (visceral leishmaniasis) and treated some 640 patients.
