Ibiza Town, the capital of the island, is only a short bus ride away from two great beaches, Ses Salines and Es Cavallet. The city offers many bars, restaurants, and boutiques. The city is the most attractive settlement on the island. It has old medieval walls that rise like a natural extension of the rocky cliffs, which protect the harbor. The ancient quarter is located within the walls and hosts a cathedral, whose clock shines out across the harbor throughout the night. Are you looking for a hotel or accommodation in Ibiza Town? Sant Antoni de Portmany, a resort on the western coast is far less cosmopolitan in character and has a wide bay. Sant Antoni offers a huge range of boat trips, e.g. a glass-bottomed tour of the harbor, and a shuttle service west across the bay to the sandy beach of Cala Bassa. Buses leave for Ibiza Town every half-hour and four times daily to Santa Eulària.
Santa Eulària des Riu, in the north of Ibiza Town, is another town on the islands, which is popular for holidaying families. This little town is situated at the seashore and beside the only river in the Balearics. It’s known for its pretty hilltop church. Just below the church is a little ethnological museum set in an ancient farmhouse.
